Dr. Lauren Elder, PhD, ABPP

Owner, Licensed Psychologist (she/her)

Dr. Lauren Elder is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience. She is board certified in Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology and holds licensure in Ohio and California.  She specializes in Autism and ADHD, and focuses much of her work on the intersection of these identities with intellectual disabilities and severe mental illness.

Dr. Britt Pope, PsyD

Dr. Brittany “Britt” Pope is a postdoctoral associate with over 10 years of experience in mental health. She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling and a PsyD in Counseling Psychology.

Amy Glubzinski is licensed independent social worker and School Psychology PhD student at the University of Cincinnati. She was named a 2023 Health Care Hero by the Cincinnati Business Courier for her work in pediatric mental health services.

Jordan “JP” Pollard is a School Psychology PhD student, Provost Fellow, and Senior Research Assistant at the University of Cincinnati. He has extensive experience in research and clinical settings with children, adolescents, and adults.

Kathleen King is a School Psychology PhD student at the University of Cincinnati. Under the guidance of Dr. Elder, she is actively expanding her skills in the provision of neurodivergent affirming care.

Kayley Wagner, LSW

Kayley Wagner is a licensed social worker specializing in pediatric mental health care. Under the supervision of Dr. Elder, PhD and Amy Glubzinski, LISW-S, Kayley is working toward her independent licensure.

Executive Functioning Coach (she/her)

Kayley Cornell specializes in supporting neurodivergent  individuals with organization, time management, and problem-solving skills. She utilizes a compassionate and client-centered approach along with evidence-based strategies to provide executive functioning coaching that is tailored to meet the needs of her clients.

Courtney Aviles

Practice Manager (she/they)

Courtney is passionate about serving the autistic, neurodivergent, and queer communities. She is a proud autistic and queer person and parent to two neurodivergent children. As a former educator and paralegal, she brings with her a unique set of experiences that assist her in meeting the needs of our clients.

Joseph is a Cincinnati native and student at Cincinnati State. He hopes to one day pursue a career in clinical psychology and takes great pride in his work as our practice’s administrative assistant.

Dr. Lauren Elder

Owner and Licensed Psychologist, PhD, ABPP

Dr. Lauren Elder is committed to providing neurodiversity affirming and trauma informed care to her clients. Her approach to therapy is flexible, client-centered, and strengths based. Treatment goals can include management of anxiety and depression, unmasking, managing sensory needs, and building skills in self-advocacy. Many of Dr. Elder’s clients are young children struggling with emotional regulation and late-diagnosed and/or high masking autistic adults, including those experiencing autistic burnout. In addition to her work as a provider at Ascent, Dr. Elder works as a consultant to foundations, corporations, and government agencies, delivering trainings on a variety of early intervention and mental health topics.

Dr. Elder is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Ohio (#P.08297) and California (#26523). She is also a member of the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact, an interstate compact designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology across state boundaries. Clients residing in PsyPact participating states may schedule with Dr. Elder for therapy and assessment services. 

Dr. Brittany "Britt" Pope

Dr. Pope understands the importance of a positive therapeutic rapport and seeks to establish a strong relationship with each and every one of her clients.  She utilizes an integrative approach, combining Interpersonal Processing Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, to provide experiential and skills-based therapy that supports your journey to mental wellness. In addition to her considerable experience providing mental health services to the neurodivergent population, she also specializes in postpartum and perinatal care, perinatal loss, and women’s health concerns.

In Alaska, Dr. Pope is a Licensed Professional Counselor (#113884) with a Temporary Psychologist License (#216818). Her clinical work is supervised by Dr. Lauren Elder, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, #P.08297 (OH) as she pursues her Ohio licensure.

Amy Glubzinski

Practicum Student, LISW-S, M.Ed

As a licensed independent social worker, Amy has extensive experience working in the pediatric mental health field, including early childhood therapy, day treatment, and crisis counseling. She completed her first master’s degree in social work at the University of Pittsburgh followed by her second master’s degree math in education at the University of Cincinnati. Amy is a licensed independent social worker with a supervisory designation. In addition to her work at Ascent, Amy is a Pediatric Mental Health Urgent Card Therapist at the Children’s Home of Cincinnati and was awarded the 2023 Health Care Hero in the Provider category by the Cincinnati Business Courier.

Jordan "JP" Pollard

Practicum Student, MSW, M.Ed

JP completed his first master’s degree in social work at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was awarded the Edith Baker Fellowship, specializing in integrated health care to bridge the gap between physical health, mental health, and health behavior. Following his master’s program, JP was awarded the Heinz Fellowship, a social justice oriented fellowship that works with students in urban schools in collaboration with teachers, staff, and school leaders to support students in academic, social, and emotional growth. JP later earned a second master’s degree in education at the University of Cincinnati. As a Ph.D student, JP has been awarded the Provost Fellowship and earned the role of Senior Research Assistant in the Health-Education-Justice (HEJ) lab, which focuses on the social determinants of health, seeking to understand and mitigate the consequences of mass incarceration on child and family education and health.

Kathleen King

Practicum Student, M.Ed

Kathleen received her master’s in education at the University of Cincinnati, where she served as a Adjunct Professor in the school’s Transition and Access (TAP) program, a four-year educational program for students with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Through her collegiate teaching experience and work as a research assistant, she cultivated her data analysis and scientific writing skills. Kathleen has extensive experience working with children, including the development and implementation of an emotion regulation small group program for students in New Richmond Schools. Kathleen is now dedicated to adopting a neurodiversity affirming framework with which to provide therapy and assessment services to her clients.

Kathryn Totzke

Practicum Student, M.A.

Kathryn received her master’s from Xavier University, where she currently supervises and mentors Xavier undergraduate students who lead power- and gender-based violence prevention initiatives across campus such as BRAVE, It’s on X, and Green Dot. In her PsyD program at Xavier, she is dedicated to her research on executive functioning and its impacts on emotional and behavioral regulation. As a psychometrist, she administers psychological assessments for the Ohio Division of Disability Determination. Kathryn has experience working with children and adolescents on the spectrum and hopes to expand and hone her skills in the provision of neurodiversity-affirming care through her work at Ascent.

A graduate of Ohio State University, she has extensive experience working in the non-profit sector, specializing in community-, home-, and school-based care. Her practice is grounded in trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approaches, ensuring comprehensive and empathetic care for her clients. She is dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized care tailored to the unique needs of children and families.
