Dr. Lauren Elder is committed to providing neurodiversity affirming and trauma informed care to her clients. Her approach to therapy is flexible, client-centered, and strengths based. Therapy goals can include management of anxiety and depression, unmasking, managing sensory needs, and building skills in self-advocacy. She is a clear and direct communicator and works to provide clients with a high level of support. Many of Dr. Elder’s clients are young children struggling with emotional regulation and late-diagnosed and/or high masking autistic adults, including those experiencing autistic burnout. Dr. Elder also works with those with significant mental health challenges such as PTSD, schizoaffective and dissociative disorders. She provides play therapy, individual, parent support, family and couples. In addition to her work as a provider at Ascent, Dr. Elder works as a consultant to foundations, corporations, and government agencies, delivering trainings on a variety of neurodiversity and mental health topics.

She is also a member of the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact, an interstate compact designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology across state boundaries. Dr. Britt Pope, PsyD (she/her)

Dr. Brittany "Britt" Pope is a postdoctoral associate with over 10 years of experience in mental health. She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling and a PsyD in Counseling Psychology. Dr. Pope understands the importance of a positive therapeutic rapport and seeks to establish a strong relationship with each and every one of her clients. She utilizes an integrative approach, combining Interpersonal Processing Therapy and affirming Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, to provide experiential and skills-based therapy that supports your journey to mental wellness. In addition to her considerable experience providing mental health services to the neurodivergent population, she also specializes in postpartum and perinatal care, perinatal loss, and women’s health concerns.

Amy Glubzinski is licensed independent social worker and School Psychology PhD student at the University of Cincinnati. She was named a 2023 Health Care Hero by the Cincinnati Business Courier for her work in pediatric mental health services. As a licensed independent social worker, Amy has extensive experience working in the pediatric mental health field, including early childhood therapy, day treatment, and crisis counseling. She completed her first master’s degree in social work at the University of Pittsburgh followed by her second master’s degree in math education at the University of Cincinnati.

Jordan “JP” Pollard is a School Psychology PhD student, Provost Fellow, and Senior Research Assistant at the University of Cincinnati. He has extensive experience in research and clinical settings with children, adolescents, and adults.

JP completed his first master’s degree in social work at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was awarded the Edith Baker Fellowship, specializing in integrated health care to bridge the gap between physical health, mental health, and health behavior. Following his master’s program, JP was awarded the Heinz Fellowship, a social justice oriented fellowship that works with students in urban schools in collaboration with teachers, staff, and school leaders to support students in academic, social, and emotional growth. JP later earned a second master’s degree in education at the University of Cincinnati. As a Ph.D student, JP has been awarded the Provost Fellowship and earned the role of Senior Research Assistant in the Health-Education-Justice (HEJ) lab, which focuses on the social determinants of health, seeking to understand and mitigate the consequences of mass incarceration on child and family education and health.

Kathryn Totzke is a Clinical Psychology PsyD student at Xavier University. Under the guidance of Dr. Elder, she is actively expanding her skills in the provision of neurodivergent affirming care.

Kathryn received her master’s from Xavier University, where she currently supervises and mentors Xavier undergraduate students who lead power- and gender-based violence prevention initiatives across campus such as BRAVE, It’s on X, and Green Dot. In her PsyD program at Xavier, she is dedicated to her research on executive functioning and its impacts on emotional and behavioral regulation. As a psychometrist, she administers psychological assessments for the Ohio Division of Disability Determination. Kathryn has experience working with autistic children, adolescents and adults. Kathryn also offers Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.

Kathleen King is a School Psychology PhD student at the University of Cincinnati. Under the guidance of Dr. Elder, she is actively expanding her skills in the provision of neurodivergent affirming care.

Kathleen received her master’s in education at the University of Cincinnati, where she served as a Adjunct Professor in the school’s Transition and Access (TAP) program, a four-year educational program for students with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Through her collegiate teaching experience and work as a research assistant, she cultivated her data analysis and scientific writing skills. Kathleen has extensive experience working with children, including the development and implementation of an emotion regulation small group program for students in New Richmond Schools. Kathleen is dedicated to a neurodiversity affirming framework with which to provide therapy and assessment services to her clients.

Nikhil Singh is a Clinical Psychology PhD student at the University of Miami of Ohio. He is dedicated to fostering an LGBTQIA2+ and neurodiversity-affirming framework in his therapy and assessment services, providing inclusive and compassionate care for his clients.

Nikhil earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Childhood Studies at Case Western Reserve University, where his academic and practicum experiences intersected research, practice, policy, and education to promote the well-being of youth. Now a Clinical Psychology PhD student at the University of Miami, his research centers on suicide prevention in marginalized communities, with a focus on understanding the stressors and cultural contexts contributing to suicidality among South Asian emerging adults. Clinically, Nikhil utilizes an integrative theoretical orientation, blending multicultural, interpersonal, and skills-based approaches to address emotional and behavioral dysregulation in youth.

She received her master’s degree in social work from Indiana University, where she worked as a graduate research assistant on initiatives for preventing child maltreatment. She is currently in the process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
