Billing

When is payment due?

Payment is due at the time services are rendered. For therapy, this means that payment is due at each session. For assessment, we require $225 of the total fee at the time of scheduling. The remaining balance is due the day of your first appointment. Please note that in the event a client cancels an assessment after scheduling, the $225 is non-refundable.

Do you offer payment plans?

We can split the second payment into two equal payments for a total of three payments. The first payment is the $225 due at the time of scheduling and is non-refundable. The second payment would be due at the first appointment, and the third would be due a month later. If you require a payment plan, please indicate this to our office upon scheduling.

Do you accept scholarships or other types of funding?

We are happy to work with families to accept the Autism Scholarship, Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship, Post Adoption Special Service Subsidy (PASSS), and Family Support Services Program (FSSP) funding. These funding sources apply to therapy services, not assessments.

Do you accept insurance or Medicaid?

We do not accept private insurance or Medicaid. All of our providers would be considered out-of-network with your insurance company. If you have private insurance, you may wish to contact them to determine if you have out-of-network benefits. If so, we can offer an itemized receipt to submit with your claim. Our office cannot guarantee reimbursement for services and strongly suggests that you contact your insurance company prior to scheduling services with us using the CPT codes and units below. Please note that we cannot provide an itemized receipt until the assessment process is complete and all payments have been processed. For therapy services, these are issued on a monthly basis.

Assessments

What is your wait for assessments?

All clinicians are currently scheduling in early 2025.

What assessments do you offer?

We offer psychological assessment for ADHD, Autism, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, and related psychological conditions. We also offer neuropsychological assessment, which builds upon a psychological assessment to include testing of cognitive functions such as thinking, learning, memory, judgment, and language. This comprehensive assessment is appropriate when there are concerns about memory, processing, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, or in more complex cases.

If you are unsure what type of assessment you or your child needs, or you are interested in testing for something you don’t see listed, please contact our office at (513) 202-4298 or [email protected].

What can I expect from an assessment?

The first appointment is a diagnostic interview lasting 60-90 minutes. What follows is 1-2 appointments that include formal testing measures, with each appointment lasting 120-150 minutes. The number of testing sessions and length of sessions depends on what type of assessment you’re scheduled for and with whom you scheduled. The last appointment is a feedback session, where you will learn the results of your assessment. If the client is a minor, the first and last appointments are parent appointments. All assessments culminate in a written diagnostic report. You may expect this entire process to take place over approximately 1-2 months.

Therapy

Are you accepting new therapy clients?

Kayley Wagner, LSW is accepting new clients on a short waitlist. Dr. Elder is accepting new clients on a short waitlist with a consultation scheduled. Please contact our office to schedule at (513) 202-4298 or [email protected].

What types of therapy do you offer?

We offer several therapy modalities, all of which are conducted with a neurodiversity affirming, queer affirming, and trauma-informed perspective.

Individual Therapy: your therapist will work with you individually to ultimately help you better understand yourself.  Common therapy topics include unmasking, managing sensory needs, reducing anxiety, improving mood, adding in supports and accommodations, and building joy.

Play Therapy: your child’s therapist will communicate with your child through play, in order to build emotion regulation skills, and/or to work through trauma.  Sessions may include our sand tray, arts activities, and free play in our dedicated play therapy room.  The child takes the lead and the therapist follows, embedding therapeutic moments throughout the play.

Family Therapy: your therapist will work with the entire family system to help everyone better understand and support each other, reduce conflict and improve communication.

Group Therapy: We offer group therapy options for children, teens, adults, and parents. Currently, we have the following groups in session:

  • Preschool Play Dates: This group is for neurodivergent preschoolers who need coaching to build peer relationships and play skills. It is facilitated by Kathryn Totzke, MA  is $60 per session, and meets on Wednesdays from 1:30-2:30 PM.
  • Elementary School Squad: This group is for students K-5 and focuses on peer relationships, self-worth, and self-advocacy. It is facilitated by Kayley Wagner, LSW is $60 per session, and meets on Tuesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.
  • Autistic Adult Group Therapy: This group is for autistic adults and focuses on unmasking, distress tolerance, and identity exploration. It is facilitated by Kathryn Totzke, M.A., is $40 per session, and meets on Fridays from 3:30 to 5:00 PM.

Parent Coaching: parenting can be challenging, and many parents are given advice that just doesn’t work for their neurodivergent children.  Your therapist will help you understand your child’s strengths and needs, and learn strategies to help meet those needs, and to help your child learn new skills.  Our therapists draw heavily from John Gottman’s Emotion Coaching and Ross Greene’s Collaborative Problem Solving methodologies.

Infant Mental Health: therapy for children ages 0-3 is appropriate when there are developmental delays, anxiety, or challenges in regulation.  This type of therapy can also be helpful for parents with depression or other mental health diagnoses who want to be sure they are responding to their child’s cues and needs. Instead of working individually with the child, work is done with caregiver-child dyads or through parent coaching.  Dr. Lauren Elder has extensive training and experience in infant mental health, including a strong knowledge base in attachment theory.
