Dr. Lauren Elder, PhD, ABPP is the founder and owner of Ascent Psychological Services. She opened Ascent in San Diego in 2014 and relocated her practice to Cincinnati in 2021. Dr. Elder and her team of doctoral practicum students provide neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming treatment and assessment services to residents of Ohio, California, and all PsyPact participating states. 

In addition to her work as a clinical psychologist in private practice, Dr. Elder provides consulting and training services to corporations, non-profits, and clinics on neurodiversity, autism, early intervention, developmental and neurodevelopmental disabilities, and mental health. Recent trainings include Autistic Culture & Advocacy and Affirming Management of Neurodivergent Employees. Her most recent published work was featured in the November 2023 issue of Autism Advocate Parenting Magazine, titled Mental Health in Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.

Dr. Elder received her doctorate in Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology from the University of Washington in 2011. Her internship and postdoctoral work at the UCLA focused on the treatment of autistic children, intellectually disabled adults, and children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. She is licensed in Ohio, California, and a member of PsyPact, which provides reciprocity in all participating states. Dr. Elder is also board certified in Child & Adolescent Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology, a designation held by only 4% of psychologists in the United States. Her extensive experience and commitment to obtaining the highest degree of training and expertise in her field makes her an excellent candidate to provide consulting and training services for your organization.
